My Challenges

My Challenges

My Biggest Challenge Yet!!!!

On 7th and 8th September I am going to be walking from Bath to Reading along the Kennet & Avon Canal in 48 hours!!!!

I am going to accmpanied by a great supportive friend Janine Lewis aka The Rambling Duck.  She does an awful lot for charities and helping others support charities.  As her name suggests she does a LOT more walking/running than I do so I'm sure she will be dragging me along at times.

The whole route is 82 miles and we will be camping out overnight.  I am really looking forward to it but am very apprehensive too!  It is a long way and a BIG challenge.  The last time I walked 26 miles I vowed it would be the last time and never again etc etc.  Now here I am planning 4 times the distance.  BUT the biggest pro is that this will mostly be flat compared to going up and down Cheddar Gorge, The Mendips and Glatonbury Tor!!!!  There is also the added bonus that (keeping fingers firmly crossed) I will not still be recovering from a relapse too.  Just the usual pains and spasms and fatigue to deal with.

During the last walk although I was accompanied by Daryl who was a huge support I still had moment of just really not wantiing to go any further and just stopping there.  But the thing that kept me going was lots of messages and support from all of my friends and family.  One that really sticks out is that I had reached my brick wall when I got a message from my Dad just saying how well I was doing and that really perked me up and got me going again.

So this time I am pre planning and asking everyone to PLEASE support in any way you can.  Be it lots of messages on Facebook, Twitter or text to meeting up with us at a pub along the way or even walking a stint with us.  I am hoping it's going to be pleasant but not too hot but you can never tell with our weather!!!  If the only way you can support it to donate a little that would be amazing!  I am hoping to raise £2,000 for the MS Society this year and this will be my biggest push to get there!
